Marieke Haan receives NWO Open Competition XS grant
Marieke Haan has received an Open Competition XS grant from NWO. This grant is intended to enable innovative and socially relevant research projects.
In the awarded project Marieke Haan studies how adult children who have been disinherited deal with the emotional, social and legal consequences of this. Whereas existing research often focuses on the motives of the testator, Haan focuses instead on the experiences of the disinherited themselves. Using qualitative interviews and network visualizations, she aims to better understand how disinheritance affects family relationships and the sense of justice of those involved.
Three other researchers within GMW also received this grant.
