Research magazine: As a foster child you really have something to say
To enhance knowledge exchange and dialogue between research, policy and practice, the Foster Care Research Centre Groningen publishes Dutch research magazines. These are send to all foster care organizations in the Netherlands and Flanders, and are freely available for everyone who is interested.
The first magazine is titled: “As a foster child you really have something to say”. This magazine presents the results of Project BOP. The aim of Project BOP is to describe the psychosocial needs of foster children from their own perspectives. We let youth share their experiences and provide the reader with a unique window into their worlds. Which needs do youth have? How do youth differ from one another? What is the impact of sexual abuse on these needs? These and other questions will be answered from the perspectives of youth, supplemented with reflections of foster parents.
