Kees Keizer: Social Influence

How can psychological knowledge be applied to encourage behavioural change?

Keizer: ‘Whatever issue you’re working on, human behaviour almost always plays a role in either the cause or the solution. The Social Influence course provides insight into the factors that shape behaviour - and, by extension, the problem itself. It’s a bit like getting a behind-the-scenes look at how people really operate. Many of our assumptions about the ‘why’ of behaviour turn out to be incorrect, while other factors prove to be surprisingly influential. The course also offers fresh perspectives on societal and economic developments. In short, it’s a truly inspiring course for curious minds with broad interests.’

Keizer specialises in behavioural change. Alongside his university work, he has spent nearly 15 years helping companies and organisations tackle behavioural challenges. He conducts research and translates scientific insights and methods into practical applications - knowledge he brings back into the classroom to enrich his teaching.

‘Working at the intersection of theory and practice is fantastic. It’s challenging, creative, and has real impact,’ says Keizer.

This course is offered in English.
