Application and Requirements
On this page you can find more information about the application procedure. You can also find more information about the requirements, with a special focus on the English Language Proficiency
We make a distinction between students who apply for research purposes only and students who apply for an exchange for study purposes (mainly courses and possibly an additional research project). Traineeships and internships with the focus on research at one of our research groups/institutes are also mentioned as research.
The application process for courses starts with a nomination from your home institution to the University of Groningen (your host institution). After your nomination, we will contact you directly and give you more information about how to compose your study programme. More information about our courses can be found here.
Before we can confirm that you are accepted for an exchange programme at our Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE), we will send you an email and request you to send us and to fill out the following application documents:
Application deadline first semester: May 1st
Application deadline second semester: November 1st
In case you apply for research purposes only you must fill out and send us the following documents:
|Copy Passport or Identification Card|
You can apply for a research at the University of Groningen throughout the year.
