Dutch Cancer Foundation (KWF) grant for Dömling

15 February 2017

Prof. Alex Dömling, Drug Design group of GRIP, together with co-workers of the UMCG (Profs. H. Nijmans and P. Elsinga) recently was awarded a grant of approx. €840.000 by the Dutch Cancer Foundation (KWF) research and implementation programme. The project is titled: Non-invasive whole-body imaging of immune checkpoints using radiolabeled small molecules as predictive biomarker for response to therapy.
In the project, small molecules will be developed for use as PET tracers and provide proof-of-concept for their use as a predictive biomarker. The multidisciplinary team of clinicians, chemists, nuclear medicine specialists and preclinical research staff involved in this project makes us uniquely suited to develop an imaging product with near-future clinical applications.
