Gases and liquid Cryogenics

The Cryogene department is responsible for the supply of gas cylinders, liquid nitrogen and helium. It also offers advice in the field of cryogenic installations.

Linnaeusborg
The Cryogene department is located in building 5124. Gas cylinders, liquid nitrogen and liquid helium can be requested by this link. The cylinders will be delivered and installed, and empty cylinders will be taken back. Small nitrogen cylinders can be refilled in room 5171.-151. Please enter the project code and the number of litres on the appropriate form.

Nijenborgh
The Cryogene Department is located in building 5124. Gas cylinders, liquid nitrogen and liquid helium can be requested by this link. The cylinders will be delivered and installed, and empty cylinders will be taken back. The Cryogene department is also responsible for filling nitrogen cylinders. You can also collect nitrogen cylinders here. Users have to return the empty cylinders themselves and collect full ones in room 5116.0001A. Please enter the project code and the number of litres on the PC installed here for this purpose. The PC is located at the entrace of room 5116.0001A. Small nitrogen cylinders can also be refilled in this room. The Cryogene department also has a helium machine in building 5124 to recycle helium gas via a fixed pipe network. Liquid helium cylinders can be refilled here in consultation with the department. Empty helium cylinders must be returned.

Delivery conditions
Orders placed before 11 am will be delivered 2 working days later. Gas cylinders will be delivered.

For administrative processing we ask for your cooperation.
The cryogenic department has dewars with a capacity of 100 liters and 60 liters.
Dewars with a capacity of 250 liters are available on request.
In that case, take into account a longer delivery time will apply.

When ordering liquid helium, only one (1) package may be ordered at a time on the gas order form https://fsegas.webhosting.rug.nl/.
Ordering multiple dewars means submitting multiple forms.
Example:
200 liters of liquid helium are required.
This means two forms are to be submitted or clearly indicate that one (1) dewar of 250 liters is desired.

Liquid nitrogen and liquid helium can be picked up in building 5124.

Rates
All gas cylinders, helium and nitrogen are charged to the users.
