Finding your way around campus

FSE Buildings

The Faculty of Science and Engineering is located in two main areas in Groningen. Most facilities are located at the Zernike campus, with several of the more medical programmes located downtown at the Antonius Deusinglaan (ADL) near the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG).

Each building, room, or lecture hall has a dedicated indicative number. The first four digits of a location indicate the building number; the first two digits after the period indicate the floor number and the last two digits indicate the room number. Some buildings contain multiple building numbers. Take LB 5173.0217 as an example. 'LB' indicates the general building: Linnaeusborg, which consists of multiple building numbers; ‘5173’ indicates which specific part of the Linnaeusborg you need to be in. Room 0217 is on the second floor, in room 17. There is also an overview of all of our locations.

RUG Maps

Everyone knows Google Maps. RUG Maps works just as easily, but is specifically designed for our University buildings. It is useful if you have an appointment, meeting or lecture in a building you are unfamiliar with. You can also see where to find facilities such as reception desks, study areas, toilets and quiet rooms. The app also helps people with additional support needs to find accessible facilities and plan a route without barriers.

Lastly, a list of all the UG buildings, an overview of their accessibility, and a map of the Zernike Campus will also help you find your way to our buildings.
