Message from the programme

Dear prospective student,

With this message we would like to welcome you to the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) of the University of Groningen (UG). Please read this website carefully to have a good start of your BSc degree programme in 2026-2027. We are looking forward to welcoming you on Friday 28 August and hope you will thoroughly enjoy your studies in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. 

Are you a bit uncertain about the choice between Mathematics and Applied Mathematics? Take your first year to find out what you like the most. The first year of both programmes is the same, so switching after the first year is easy.

To have a great start of your studies, we encourage you to join the Pienter Camp organized by the study association FMF from Friday 28 August till Sunday 30 August. Please find more information here and sign up as soon as possible!

We also strongly encourage you to attend all educational activities (lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions). This is the best way to build up a community with your fellow students and professors and it will increase your overall study success.

Starting your bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics in 2026-2027 (starting Friday 28 August 2026)? Make sure to fill out this form on XXXXX at the latest.

We use this information to create tutorial and mentor groups. We will share your mobile phone number with your mentor, so they can contact you and add you to the WhatsApp group with your fellow mentees.
