Overview of the third year
The third year of the in-depth Honours College programme will consist of:
Discussion series
During the discussion series you will discuss together with your fellow students and a invited professor a wide variety of topics.
Closing symposium
We will conclude the third year with the FSE Honours College closing symposium. You and second year Honours College FSE students will present your research project by using a poster.
Also 10 ECTS has to be chosen from:
Your own research project (5 or 10 ECTS)
In this part of the FSE Honours College you continue with your second year research project, or start a new project. It will give you the unique opportunity to do research within our faculty on a subject in which you are really interested.
Taking chances with the sciences (5 ECTS)
This course will teach you how to infer graphical models from real-world data, using graph theory and probability theory. Throughout this course the statistical computing environment R will be used to implement some of the discussed algorithms.
Organization of the first year FSE Honours College opening symposium and lecture series (2 ECTS) + Individual theme study (3 ECTS)
Every year it is possible for one to four students to help organize the first year FSE Honours College opening symposium and lecture and discussion series. This has to be combined with an individual theme study.
For more information on the broadening part of the third year, see the general Honours College page, or Ocasys.
