With non-Dutch qualifications
International students and Dutch students with non-Dutch qualifications are not automatically admitted to a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme at the University of Groningen.
These applications are processed and assessed by the Admissions Office.
Proficiency in English is an admission requirement for all English taught degree programmes. You will need to submit proof of proficiency in English as part of the application process. You are exempted for taking an English language test if you can prove that your level of English proficiency is equivalent to Dutch pre-university level (VWO). Check this website to find out which certificates are accepted.
To apply, you will have to complete your application via both Studielink and the University of Groningen’s Online Application System (OAS). For more information on our application procedure, please visit this page.
The application deadline for both the programme (through Studielink) and the admissions procedure is May 1st.
Please note! The Bachelor programmes in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Computing Science have a numerus fixus (fixed quota). Prospective students should apply before January 15th, 2022 due to the numerus fixus procedure. The admissions procedure is independent of the selection procedure. Information about the selection procedure can be found here.
