Results Keuzegids Master programmes, geography and planning masters in Groningen best in categories
According to the latest edition of the Dutch Higher Education Guide (Keuzegids), the economic and cultural geography students at the RUG are pretty satisfied. "The lecturers are very capable and provide good guidance. Students also appreciate the exams, which match the course material. In addition, the preconditions of the course are well organized: the students receive information about their study progress in time."
Economic Geography is the best master in the category Geography and Planning with 74 points, in second place is the Master's degree in Cultural Geography which is taught in Leeuwarden (72). The Research Master in Spatial Sciences is again the best geographical research master in the Netherlands with 74 points. The Keuzegids states: "The research master in Groningen stands head and shoulders above the other geography research masters. The students are really encouraged to get the best out of themselves. Scientific education is also of a high level. Students learn analytical thinking and read publications critically."
Another notable score was achieved by the master in Real Estate Studies in the Economics category. With 62 points this master obtains 10 points more than in the previous year. In the category Geography and Planning, the masters Environmental and Infrastructure Planning (60 points) and Socio-Spatial Planning (58) rank third and split fourth. The master's in Population Studies has 54 points this year, which means the master falls in the second half of the category. The results of the Keuzegids are based on the scores of the National Student Survey (NSE) of 2018.
