Exhibition geography and art students in London, UK

The exhibition addresses issues of sameness and difference, of in- and out-of-placeness
05 September 2016

LATEN ZIEN (Showing Yourself / Showing someone / showing something) is a collaborative project between Geography students from the University of Groningen (the Netherlands), art students from Academy Minerva in Groningen and clients from ‘De Noorderbrug’, a residence with specialised care for people predominantly with an acquired brain injury.

In the project, in teams of three, the participants journeyed through each other’s lifeworlds, showing each other places that are meaningful. Each team documented their journeying using photography, each from their own perspectives. The outcome is an exhibition for a broader public which shows the audience ‘something’ of these lifeworlds.

The exhibition addresses issues of sameness and difference, of in- and out-of-placeness. On display at the Royal Geographical Society during their Annual Conference (Aug 30- Sept 2) in London were excerpts from the exhibition that took place at ‘De Noorderbrug’, February - April 2016.
