Nominating your student(s)

If our universities have signed a bilateral exchange agreement, you can nominate your student(s) in Mobility Online (the login details have been sent by email to the central contact person for exchanges of your university). Click on the menu icon, 'My Mobility Online' and 'Nomination form'. You need to fill in the following information (please do not use ALL CAPS):

• last name
• first name
• gender
• study level
• nationality
• date of birth
• student email address
• exchange period: Autumn/first semester, Spring/second semester or full academic year (see fact sheet for semester dates)
• field of study

Please note that, for administrative reasons, all bilateral agreements of the Faculty of Spatial Sciences are registered under code 0532 - earth sciences. This therefore is the correct bilateral agreement to select in Mobility Online when nominating your students to the Faculty of Spatial Sciences. We do offer courses in the subject areas of Human Geography, Urban and Regional Planning, Spatial Design, Environmental and Infrastructure Planning and Demography.  

Nomination deadlines:

• April 1 for exchanges in the first semester and full academic year
• October 1 for exchanges in the second semester

Nominations after the deadline can be discussed, but housing options in international student housing may be minimal.

We will send accepted students an email with information about the next steps, housing and other practical matters.

Language proficiency requirements

Students that visit the Faculty of Spatial Sciences as an exchange student need to have a sufficient command of the English language. Please see our language proficiency requirements for more information.

Only applicable for partner universities that are not located in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Germany and Austria: If your student meets the language requirements but does not have one of the mentioned language certificates, you or another representative of your university may provide the student with a statement in which you declare that the student has a (very) good command of English in speaking and writing. During the application, your student can then upload that statement instead of a language certificate.

Course options

At the Faculty of Spatial Sciences the course 'Spatial Problems and Spatial Policies; The Dutch Experience' (10 EC) is a compulsory course for all visiting exchange students. See 'Courses' for more information about this course and other course options.

Transcript of Records

As soon as your student sees that all the final Groningen course grades are published, he or she can send an email to the International Office requesting for the transcript of records. A signed and stamped digital copy of the transcript will be mailed out to the student and the student’s home university coordinator. Hard copies of transcripts are not provided.
