Warm welcome new Honours students bachelor programme
Yesterday evening, the 1st of April, the festive Welcoming Ceremony that marks the start of the Honours Bachelor programme 2014-2015, took place in the Aula of the Academy Building.
More than 380 students attended this celebrative evening. Too many to be able to fit in the Aula, therefore some of them had to follow the ceremony via a live stream in the Senaatszaal. The students were entertained by the Dean of the Honours College, prof. mr. dr. Hanny Elzinga, the Rector Magnificus, prof. dr. Elmer Sterken and Monique Ansink, special guest speaker of this evening, who managed to build her company into an international mini-multinational and tripled the value of the company.
At the end, the students choose the name of their cohort by using the mentimeter (on their mobile phones) and voted for Spinoza. A group photo was taken in the Aula, which was not so easy to do considering we had to push in 380 students, but we managed. Students, staff and coordinators came together in the Spiegelzaal/Bruinszaal to have a drink to get acquainted with each other. The Honours College is looking back at a very pleasant evening!
