Explanation Master's application documents
Translations
All documents must be provided in English or Dutch.
Certified copies
Please note that to enable us to start processing your application you can initially upload/send plain copies of your diploma, transcripts and language test score reports. Based on these documents, we can come to a conditional admissions decision. However, before you can be officially admitted, you will have to provide us with certified copies.
Our website explains what certified copies are.
Curriculum Vitae / Resume
Your CV should preferably list your previous/current education (incl. name of school/educational institution, official name of qualification, period of enrolment), relevant work experience and other relevant skills. If you are unsure about the format, you can use the Online Editor from Europass.
GMAT / GRE test results
Applicants interested in Master's and pre-master's programmes of the Faculty of Economics and Business who completed their undergraduate education outside of the European Union will have to submit a GMAT test result. For more information about the required scores and possible exemptions, please check the programme pages.
If you want to send your GMAT or GRE test results directly to the Admissions Office, please provide your test centre with our institutional code: 7191. Please make sure that you complete all four GMAT components, including Analytical Writing.
Letter of motivation
We would like to know why you are applying for the programme of your choice and why you consider yourself to be a good candidate.
Letters of reference
You can upload these letters in the Progress Portal or your referees can send the letters directly to the Admissions Office from their institutional email address using the Admissions Office's contact form.
Proof of English proficiency
We only accept the following English proficiency tests:
-
IELTS (Academic);
-
TOEFL iBT;
-
Cambridge Assessment English exams (only C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency).
Our TOEFL institution code is 7191; you will have to select this code when you register for your test.
Expiry of certificates
The faculty does not accept test results older than 2 years as of the date your application is received. This includes Cambridge tests/certificates.
You may submit your application without uploading an English proficiency test. After processing your application the Admissions Office will provide you with details on how you can send your test results at a later date.
Transcripts
Please upload copies of your original transcripts (i.e. grade list, academic record) and, if applicable, their translations. If you have not yet completed all your courses, please upload a list of the courses (if applicable, incl. credits/units) that you will still be completing (before you can graduate).
If the programme of your interest has a GPA / grade requirement, please make sure that we receive a complete list of your grades obtained to this point. We will also need to receive information about the grading scale used at your institution. It is usually provided at the bottom or on the back of your transcript.
Writing sample
Some Master's programmes ask you to submit a sample of your academic writing. The requirements applying to this writing sample can differ per faculty and per programme. Most programmes ask you to submit your undergraduate thesis. If this was not written in English, then please provide us with a summary of your thesis in English. Alternatively, you can provide us with any other relevant essay/paper of 10-15 pages.
