AI Tools in Development

The UG is working on the implementation of a locally and fully self-hosted AI assistant, such as ChatGPT or Mistral's Le Chat. This application offers a secure and reliable way to support students and staff, with privacy and security as a priority. By hosting this AI service entirely at the UG, all data remains on UG servers, which means that sensitive information is not disclosed with third parties. This ensures a controlled environment for educational, research and business applications, while maintaining data confidentiality. The first version is expected in December 2025.

The UG is working on an AI service bot that is integrated with knowledge items from a range of UG systems. This bot is a central and efficient tool that can answer questions from students, staff and visitors. By accessing a large range of UG information sources, the bot can answer questions about diverse topics, regardless of the department or service. Examples of this are general questions about facility services, study programmes, or administrative procedures or specific questions about IT support and HR procedures. This makes it easier to access information and users can get immediate help (24/7) without contacting other departments. The first version is expected to be released in December 2025.
