Flagship 4: Health & Food
Flagship 4 encompasses research in the domains of health and food that attunes to the Frisian knowledge agenda, including innovations in dairy products with value for human health, topics relating to nutrition, and more.
The research in this flagship focuses on the role of food and nutrition in health by addressing prevention of non-communicable disease, the role of nutrition in curing disease and food-related innovations that support disease prevention or cure.
Research is performed in close collaboration with academic, public and private partners to provide academic scholars the opportunity to build on the strengths of the region. Research projects tie into one of the central themes of the university, healthy ageing across the whole life course, ultimately striving to gain more healthy years for all.
