A surprising initiative, an innovative project, a great idea or a special internship: this is your chance to be in the spotlight! Sign up and become the representative of your university in the competition for the prestigious Leeuwarder Courant Awards (LC Awards).
The LC Awards is an initiative of the regional newspaper the Leeuwarder Courant (LC). They want to draw attention to interesting projects of students in Leeuwarden. All students with an original idea, which has value for the community, are welcome to apply. There is a special category for professional and academic bachelor and master students. You can win a statuette and a prize of €333,33. In addition, you will enter the competition for the Audience prize.
Your entry can be a research proposal, a case study or a part of your thesis. You can also participate with a group of students. The only criteria are: originality and social value. To give an impression you can watch the videos of Sara and Guillem who did a project on the perception of understanding Frisian or Amin who worked on his thesis about food waste.
Sign up by filling out the application form before the 18th of April 2019.
1) After 18 April the jury will nominate a project of the bachelor and a project of the masters which will be participating in the Leeuwarder Courant Award.
We will make a short movie of the project of the awardee. On May 28th 2019 there will be a section in the Leeuwarder Courant introducing all projects participating in the LC Awards. People can start voting now on your project for the Audience prize.
3) The LC Awards show is on 12th of June 2019 at the Leeuwarder Courant. This show will give you an opportunity to present your project, impress the LC jury and answer the questions of the jury members. You can present your project by giving a short and powerful three-minute presentation of your project for the public of the LC Awards Show.
