Unleashing Creativity at the S-H-O-W Conference for DSS students

06 June 2023

The recent S-H-O-W conference organized by Graphic Hunters proved to be an enlightening and empowering experience for students from the Data Science and Society bachelor program. Held at the historic Anatomiegebouw in Utrecht, the conference brought together data visualization enthusiasts, fostering a supportive community for knowledge exchange, networking, and personal growth.

Curated talks and workshops by renowned speakers such as Michael Brenner, Beatrice Gobbo, and Manuel Lima offered diverse perspectives and insights into the world of data visualization. Students also engaged in open discussions, collaborated with peers, and gained practical skills through interactive workshops led by professionals like Mushon Zer-Aviv, Leticia Pozza, and Mark-Jan Bludau.

The S-H-O-W conference provided a unique opportunity for our students to connect with industry professionals, expand their horizons, and explore future career prospects. Attending this event enriched their educational journey, enhancing their technical skills and fostering a multidisciplinary approach.

The University of Groningen is grateful to Graphic Hunters and the S-H-O-W organizers for creating an inclusive and inspiring event that benefited our Data Science and Society students. By participating in initiatives like the S-H-O-W conference, our students continue to cultivate their passion for data science, develop their professional network, and contribute to the thriving data-driven landscape.
