CF Scientists against autonomous weapons
Several scientists of Campus Fryslân speak out against the use and development of autonomous weapons. Together with other scientists they signed an open letter to the Dutch Government as a call to prohibit self-thinking weapon systems preventively.
‘’As experts in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, we believe it is very important that the Netherlands commits itself to the development of an international legally binding agreement to ensure that there is always meaningful human control over the use of force.’’
On behalf of Campus Fryslân prof. Andrej Zwitter, dr. Oskar Gstrein and PhD researcher Taís Fernanda Blauth signed the letter.
