Succesful kick-off of the Sustainable Startup Academy
Last Tuesday marked the kick-off the Campus Fryslân Sustainable Startup Academy. Through this program, the university is meeting the demand of students for the development of their own entrepreneurial skills.
Through the sustainable Startup Academy practical methods and tools are passed on to students that offer support when starting a sustainable business. The program consisted of seven workshops: from concept to award and from customer discovery to pitch.
During last Tuesdays kick-off, called the Business Idea Generator, the ideation method of Stanford University was used. High-Quality sustainable business ideas are developed and refined, thus taking the first step on the road to sustainable business.
The Sustainable Startup Academy is offered in collaboration with Sterk Fries Ondernemerschap. From UG/Campus Fryslân, Prof. Gjalt de Jong and Dr. Thomas Long are involved in the Sustainable Start-Up Academy. According to Dr. Thomas Long, the kick-off was successful; “the students were very driven to find entrepreneurial solutions for a number of Sustainable Development Goals. Several ideas have come out of this that have real potential and we look forward to the next session to help them further develop those ideas.”
The next session takes place on October 1st, when the participating students will place the Launch Game. An impression:
