Dr. Niels Faber, Assistant Professor of Circular Entrepreneurship at RUG / Campus Fryslân, Jan Jonker, Dré Kampfraath and Michiel Heij and the SocialTec team have developed an app that has been nominated for the Asito social innovation prize 2019. The prize winners will be announced on 3 September during the Sustainable Tuesday event.
Inclusive banking
The GIVO app is developed for people who for various reasons cannot participate in economic transactions, as a result of which they don’t have access to goods and services. The app enables them to participate in the economy and thus in society.
SocialTec
SocialTec is one of the five teams that took part in the Inclusive Banking challenge at the Odyssey Hackathon 2019 in Groningen and developed the app further after the Hackathon.
Sustainable Tuesday
The first Tuesday of September is called Sustainable Tuesday and this is the day on which sustainable ideas and initiatives are presented in political The Hague. On this day, the government is receiving the Sustainable Tuesday case with hundreds of sustainable ideas and initiatives of which the most sustainable, innovative and distinctive ones have the chance to win prizes and the opportunity to give the idea or initiative an extra boost.
