Has your application been accepted?

Hurray! We’re happy you will be joining us soon.
This is what you need to do before you come to Leeuwarden:

To do list:

Step 1: Visa (for non-EU students)

The Immigration Service Desk (ISD) applies for your visa and/or residence permit. You will support them by uploading the required documents and paying the fees.

After you apply to your programme, they will contact you.

Step 2: Meeting the conditions in your acceptance letter

Complete the conditions mentioned in your acceptance letter. These differ per person but can include for example meeting your English proficiency, finalizing your previous education or completing a maths exam.

Check this in your personal acceptance letter

Step 3: Send your certified (digital) documents

Upload the certified versions of your documents as instructed in your acceptance letter. Are certified versions not mentioned in your acceptance letter? Then you don’t need to submit them!

Step 4: Register the tuition fee payment details

Make sure you make arrangements for paying your tuition fee and register payment details via Studielink. This must be completed by 31 August.

Step 5: Activate your student account & upload your photo

Activate your student account and check your student mail:
here is how. Then, upload a photo for your student card.

Step 6: Search for housing

Start looking for a room in Leeuwarden as soon as possible. Housing is often easier to find here than in many other Dutch cities, but it is still important to begin your search early.

Note: First-year Global Responsibility & Leadership students are offered guaranteed housing.

Step 7: Attend webinars

You will receive invitations to online information sessions throughout the spring and summer. Be sure to attend those to be prepared for your study.

Step 8: Sign up for the introduction

In August, we organize Introduction Activities for all our programmes. It’s a mix of fun and informative sessions. Be sure to fill out a registration form to confirm your attendance. For GRL attendance is mandatory.

Step 9: Plan your arrival

Depending on how far you’re travelling, make sure you’ve checked connections and booked any necessary tickets.

Completed the steps?

Here's what comes next. You need to take care of this to-do list after arriving.

Good to know:

  • Course registration: You don't have to register for the courses in your first period, we'll do that for you!

  • Timetable: You can check your schedule in Rooster. Be sure to select your programme (Year 1) and the academic year 2026/2027 in the top-right corner.
