BSc Data Science & Society

To be admitted, you need a secondary school diploma that gives access to an academic university (Dutch VWO, HBO-P or international equivalent), sufficient English proficiency and mathematics skills.

Deadline: 1 May 2026

Good to know:

  • Programming: no prior programming experience required.

BSc Global Responsibility & Leadership

To be admitted, you need a secondary school diploma that gives access to an academic university (Dutch VWO, HBO-P, or international equivalent) and sufficient English proficiency.

GRL has a selection procedure: you submit a CV and a motivation letter or video.

Pre-masters:

Pre-master Speech Technology

You are eligible if you:

  • have a university of applied sciences diploma (HBO) in a related field (e.g. Computer Science, Linguistics, Communication Sciences), or

  • have a university degree in a non-related field and need a foundation in programming or speech technology, or

  • are a professional wanting to transition into speech technology.

Key details

  • Start: February 2026 (fully online)

  • Application deadlines: 15 October 2025 (non-EU), 15 January 2026 (EU & Dutch)

Pre-master Sustainable Entrepreneurship

You are eligible if you:

  • have a university of applied sciences bachelor (HBO) in business/economics or related, or

  • have a university degree with insufficient credits in business/economics and research methods.

Key details

  • Start: February 2026 (Leeuwarden, online participation possible)

  • Application deadlines: 15 October 2025 (non-EU), 15 January 2026 (EU & Dutch)

Pre-master Sustainable Futures

This premaster focuses on essential research methods so you can confidently transition into the master.

You are eligible if you:

  • have a university of applied sciences diploma (HBO) or

  • hold a university degree in any field but have fewer than 5 ECTS in research methods.

Key details

  • Start: February 2026 (Leeuwarden, online possible)

  • Duration: 3 or 5 months, depending on your research-methods deficiency

  • Application deadlines: 15 October 2025 (non-EU), 15 January 2026 (EU & Dutch)

Note: Pre-master programmes are only required if you apply to the related master’s programme and the Admissions Board advises you to take the pre-master.

Master's:

MSc Speech Technology

To be admitted, you need sufficient English proficiency and an academic Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence or Computer/Computing Science.

Students with a research university bachelor’s degree in another field are also encouraged to apply. The Admissions Board will assess your profile.

Application deadlines:

  • Dutch diploma: 1 July 2026

  • International diploma: 1 May 2026

MSc Sustainable Entrepreneurship

To be admitted, you need sufficient English proficiency and an academic Bachelor’s degree in business/economics or related.

Application deadlines

  • International diploma: 1 May 2026

MSc Sustainable Futures

To be admitted, you need sufficient English proficiency and an academic Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Tourism, Liberal Arts & Sciences or Social Sciences.

Students with a research university bachelor’s degree in another field are also encouraged to apply. The Admissions Board will assess your profile.
