Our new international alumni officer introduces herself
Dear alumnus, alumna,
My name is Carina Bravo. From 1 September I started working for the University of Groningen as its international alumni officer. My position was created for the reason that the University of Groningen would like to enhance the relations with its international alumni. I hope that I will also be able to play a part in strengthening the communications between the University of Groningen and its alumni. I am myself an international alumna. I graduated with a Master of Science degree in International Business in 2005.
In the last 3.5 years I worked for the Nuffic Neso office in Mexico as a marketing officer and alumni officer. Nuffic is the Netherlands organization for international cooperation in higher education. From there I have seen the increasing interest in international alumni. I share the belief that maintaining a mutual relationship brings important benefits for both the international alumni and the alma mater. There are many activities and services that we can create for and amongst ourselves.
I am aware that each alumnus has different needs and expectations from the University of Groningen international alumni network. This ranges from knowledge gathering in a certain field of expertise, to finding other alumni in the city where you are living, and much more. Furthermore we can also support the University of Groningen on its way to becoming one of the top 50 universities in the world. Clearly this will benefit the curriculum of all its alumni. I will get back to you on all these subjects. In the meantime, please feel free to drop me a line to express anything you would like me to attend to. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Carina Bravo Plancarte
