Speech of thanks of Rebecca Gomperts
My thanks are to very many people: The crew of the abortion boat, al the very brave women who joined this adventure and stood up against military warships. All the hundreds of volunteers that participated. My friends who helped and supported me all the time. The Lawyers who were there to make sure that all the court cases were won. I also want to thank the people in India who are shipping the medicines and the pharmacists who are preparing all the packages. I want to thank the Women on Web helpdesk team who have worked tirelessly for the last 15 years to answer all these women with real compassion and dignity. And I want to thank my family, my parents and my kids who have always been very enthousiastic and supportive.
