Challenges do not stop at the border: UG strengthens the ties with Lower Saxony

On 23 and 24 April, a delegation from knowledge institutions and the Ministry of Science and Culture from German Lower Saxony (headed by Minister Falko Mohrs), visited the University of Groningen (UG). The programme in the Academy Building included a dinner and presentations about present and future collaboration. The emphasis was on the common challenges being faced by the two border regions.

Journey through the border regions: Visit to Emmen in the interests of strengthening ties with Lower Saxony

On 5 June, during the second edition of the journey through the border regions (Grenslandreis) in Emmen, the ties between the Northern Netherlands and Lower Saxony were given a boost. The border regions have a lot to offer each other. Last year, the first exchange included a visit to the German city of Oldenburg and Cloppenburg Ecopark. This year, a visit to the innovative Greenwise Campus and GETEC Park in Emmen were on the agenda. The theme for the day was 'Wie machen es die Nachbarn?'; What can we learn from each other?
