Can Tho University and the University of Groningen extend collaboration

14 December 2022

Can Tho University and the University of Groningen (UG) signed an addendum to extend their Memorandum of Understanding. The collaboration between Can Tho and Groningen goes back several decades and has mainly focused on joint projects and on the exchange of staff and students in the areas of Law and Economics & Business. In the coming period joint research and education initiatives will be explored, to make sure more students and staff from both universities can benefit from the collaboration. This fits in the strategy of the University of Groningen to diversify its activities in the Asia Pacific region.

The signing ceremony took place in The Hague on 12 December 2012 in the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Liesje Schreinemacher. The University of Can Tho was represented by Prof. Tran Ngoc Hai (Vice Rector International) and the University of Groningen was represented by Mervin Bakker (Director International Strategy & Relations).
