Recycling office furniture

01 June 2018

The University of Groningen will be giving several faculties a makeover in the upcoming months. These means that a lot of ‘old’ office furniture will be replaced with new furniture. We want to prevent that this furniture is dumped and disintegrated, that is why we have searched for new owners. For the first renovation, happening at the Academy Building, the office furniture will go to a foundation called Werken Met Zorg. This foundation gives people with poor job prospects a chance to work and develop themselves. The foundation will re-use this furniture in their workplace, and they will upcycle it into a new product when it is broken.
