Sustainable Humans of Groningen - Toentje

14 February 2018

The #1 in the series of Sustainable Humans of Groningen! In these interview sessions you will meet people of Groningen who take action to make the world a more sustainable place. They are here to inspire you and give you advice on how to take action yourself!

Jos Meijers was shocked about the lack of fresh produce at the foodbank. Therefore he initiated Toentje, together with the Gemeente Groningen and de Stadse Voedselbank. At Toentje, people from all layers of society join forces to produce fresh vegetables for the foodbank. Toentje has a community garden, restaurant Bie de Buuf and collaborates with locals to contribute to sustainable and social products, such as honey from Groning and beer from Baxbier! Curious how it all started? Watch the interview!
