Celebrate Purple Friday with us!

On 12 December we celebrate Purple Friday: a day on which we come together to show that everyone deserves to be themselves, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. By wearing purple or organising activities, we speak out in favour of an inclusive society and against discrimination.

This year, the university once again shows its solidarity. As tradition has it, the Academy Building will be illuminated in purple, as a visible statement of support for students, staff, and visitors from the LGBTQIA+ community.

On Thursday December 11, Campus Fryslân is organizing a Purple Friday event, along with four other knowledge institutions in Friesland (NHL Stenden, Van Hall Larenstein, Aeres and Firda). The event will take place at NHL Stenden Rengerslaan 10 in Leeuwarden, followed by a pub quiz in Café YAI.
