Digital Autonomy

The University of Groningen is working to reduce its dependence on large commercial tech companies. We aim to use digital systems that protect our academic freedom, institutional independence, and the security of our data.

Through a dedicated programme, we seek to achieve this ambition. Together with the UG community, we are working towards greater digital autonomy by 2030.
