Lunch&Learn session with Izaak Dekker
Students skipping class. Less reading, less writing, less studying. The so-called study crisis, a growing crisis of student engagement and academic discipline in higher education, is something many of us are already seeing in our classrooms.
But how do you respond? And what actually works?
The Teaching Academy Groningen (TAG) invites you to an interactive lunch session with Izaak Dekker, associate lecturer at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA), where his research focuses on exactly this challenge. Later that afternoon, he will speak at the RUG Besturendag — but first, he wants to have a real conversation with UG academic teachers and educational experts who face this reality every day.
Together, we will explore:
-
How do you recognize the study crisis in your own teaching?
-
What approaches have you tried — and what do you notice?
-
What can universities and universities of applied sciences learn from each other?
Bring your own lunch, coffee and tea provided.
