Calls Open for Workshop Hosts for the ENLIGHT Student Network Conference in Tartu, 2026!
With great excitement, the Student Network of ENLIGHT, invites you to the conference on Digitalisation in European Universities: Efficiency, Sustainability and the Human Touch of AI on 27 and 28 March in Tartu, Estonia!

The main goal of our annual SN Conferences is to learn and exchange knowledge among students and researchers, as well as get to know another ENLIGHT University & University-City better. Next destination---- the captivating intellectual capital of Estonia, Tartu!
This year’s edition focuses on how digitalization is shaping European universities. We will explore the efficiency, sustainability, and human side of AI while meeting peers from across Europe. As a student, you have the opportunity to give a workshop that aligns with the theme during the conference.
Workshops at the ENLIGHT Student Network Conference can cover a wide range of topics, including best practices for integrating AI in university systems, exploring digital tools for sustainability on campus, and enhancing student participation in co-governance through digital platforms. You could also lead discussions on the ethical implications of AI in education, or share innovative solutions for making universities more inclusive through digitalization. Whether you're passionate about technology, sustainability, or student governance, there's a space for you to contribute and collaborate with like-minded peers from across Europe.
Students with a strong interest in the theme are highly encouraged to come up with innovative workshop ideas and register themselves for the conference. The costs for travel and accommodation will be borne by the University of Groningen.
What we are looking for
Please bear in mind the following criteria:

The length of the workshop should be about 1,5h (including breaks).

The student(s) are willing to participate in an online training before the Conference.

We are looking for creative ideas. The workshops should, at a minimum, cover either best practices, new and innovative skills which should be shared, challenges currently faced and areas requiring improvement in the area of the efficiency, sustainability and/or the human side of AI.

Workshops should be accessible to students from all disciplines, with the aim of giving basic knowledge to encourage an interdisciplinary perspective.
How to apply
Please send your proposal by the 5th of December to enlight.scg rug.nl, indicating the following measures:

Your name(s) and study (please be aware that you can apply as a team, but preferably not more than three at maximum)

Explain what issue/topic you are going to address

Explain the relevance and the learning outcomes of the workshop

Shortly outline the set-up (please also indicate if we need to provide you with anything)

Mention your workshop approach and how you wish to engage with the students

Please point out the maximum number of students you are comfortable giving the workshop to.
We recommend limiting your proposal to one or two pages max.
