ENLIGHT Exchange Courses (Blended Intensive Programmes)

BIPS Autumn 2026

To stimulate and support international and interdisciplinary student learning across the ENLIGHT community, the Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPS) will take place again in Autumn 2026. These short-term courses combine online learning with an onsite intensive week at the hosting ENLIGHT university.

Each BIP is open to students from at least three ENLIGHT universities, awarding ECTS credits and offering a unique chance to experience a cross-university, challenge-based classroom.

About the courses

The BIPS provide innovative formats for joint teaching and learning. They combine:

• Virtual component: online preparatory sessions.

• Onsite component: a one-week intensive mobility at the hosting university.

• Recognition: successful completion awards between 3–6 ECTS credits (depending on the course).

Students may also apply for Erasmus+ mobility grants to cover travel and subsistence costs (eligibility and funding subject to faculty approval).

• Developing Critical Thinking via Global Teamwork and Presentation (3 ECTS, 1 spot, BA/MA/PhD, host: University of Göttingen, onsite 30 November–5 December 2026)
• Environmental, Health and Climate Change (5 ECTS, 3 spots, BA/MA, host: Uppsala University, onsite 5-9 October 2026)
• Global and Environmental Aspects of Neurohealth (7.5 ECTS, 3 spots, BA/MA, host: Uppsala University, onsite 2-6 November 2026)
• History of Small Nations in Modern Europe: Legacies, Trajectories and Transformations (5 ECTS, 5 spots for 6 universities, BA, host: Comenius University Bratislava, onsite 5-9 October 2026)
• Innovation Game: Serious Game Design for Better Health (5 ECTS, 5 spots, BA/MA/PhD, host: University of Uppsala, onsite 3-14 August 2026)
• Nature-Based Solutions for Local Climate Challenges: Opportunities for Resilient and Socially Equitable Cities (5 ECTS, 10 spots, BA/MA, host: University of the Basque Country, onsite 9-13 November 2026)
• Waste Semiotics: Language, Materiality, Space (3 ECTS, 3 spots, BA/MA, host: University of Bern, onsite 19-23 October 2026)
• Wellbeing @ Work (3 ECTS, 3 spots, BA/MA, host: Ghent University, onsite 14-18 September 2026)

Funding

• Students can apply for Erasmus+ mobility support for travel and accommodation.
• Contact your faculty’s Exchange Office to confirm eligibility and recognition.

Eligibility criteria

• Enrollment at an ENLIGHT university.
• Commitment to both the online and onsite components.

• Faculty approval for ECTS recognition.

Application & Deadline

• Deadline for all courses: 15 April 2026, 23:59 CET.

Further information

Next to recognition of the course as such, please bear in mind that the number of ECTS allocated to these BIPs has been determined by the coordinating/host universities. Students can apply for recognition of credits to the relevant authorities in their home institution (at UG this is the Board of Examiners). The final decision on awarding credits is based on the actual workload and is at the discretion of each home university.
