Moon landing 50 years | DOTliveplanetarium

On Saturday 20 July, young and old are welcome for a journey to the moon in DOTliveplanetarium, to commemorate the moon landings 50 years ago. In a live planetarium show you will be taken back to the time of the Apollo missions and you will go on a virtual journey to the moon in the 20 meter dome of DOT. In addition, there is a small exhibition about the exploration of the moon.

On 20 July, it will be 50 years since the first human set his footsteps on the surface of the moon. The Apollo 11 mission began on 16 July 1969 with the launch of the mighty Saturn V rocket. After a three-day trip, the crew, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, arrived at the Moon. With the Eagle lunar lander, Armstrong and Aldrin descended to the moon, where Armstrong began his exploration on 20 July with the famous words "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind".

In the live planetarium shows we look back to this world-historical event, in which humanity for the first time visited another celestial body. We will travel from the earth to the moon and look ahead to the future of space travel. There are planetarium shows in the afternoon for children and for adults, the entrance is free.
