Ceremony of Merits

Every year, our employees make exceptional contributions to the University of Groningen. With the Ceremony of Merits, we recognize and honor them.

2025 edition

The Ceremony of Merits 2025 will take place on Friday 4 July. The programme will run from 4 to 5 p.m. and will consist of various parts, including:

• The presentation of the new Nicolaas Mulerius Fund dissertation prize (the successor to the Wierenga-Rengerink dissertation prize).

• The presentation of the GUF-100 Prizes for outstanding students.
• A poem by UG poet-in-residence Femke de Heer.

The ceremony will be led by Erald Sula. The ceremony is for invited guests only.

Afterwards, there will be a news item on the UG website. This webpage will then feature videos of the winners of the various awards, as well as a link to the photos taken during the Ceremony of Merits by photographer Pjotr Wiese.

2024 edition
