Opening hours and closing days

General office hours are Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. - 5 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays the buildings of the University are closed.

On the following dates in 2026 the University of Groningen will be closed:

Public Holidays 2026

• New Year's Day: Thursday, 1 January 2026
• Good Friday: Friday, 3 April 2026
• Easter (Easter Sunday and Easter Monday): Sunday, 5 April and Monday, 6 April 2026
• King's Day: Monday, 27 April 2026
• Liberation Day: Tuesday, 5 May 2026
• Ascension Day: Thursday, 14 May 2026
• Pentecost (first and second days of Pentecost): Sunday, 24 May and Monday, 25 May 2026
• Christmas: Friday, 25 December and Saturday, 26 December 2026
