The UMCG Microscopy and Imaging Center (UMIC)
UMIC provides the microscopy infrastructure to support state of the art research in medical and biological sciences.
It offers training and access to advanced microscopes and image processing to researchers of the UMCG, RUG and to external users.

Confocal microscopes:
- Zeiss LSM 780 two- and single photon Confocal Laser Scan microscope
- Zeiss LSM 7MP two photon Confocal Laser Scan microscope
- Leica SP8X DLS Confocal Laser Scan- and Light Sheet Microsope
- Leica SP8 easy to use Confocal Laser Scan Microsope
- Zeiss Cell Discoverer 7 High content Widefield/Confocal microscope (see also high content microscopes)
High content microscopes:
- Zeiss Cell Discoverer 7 High content Widefield/Confocal microscope
- TissueFaxs high content fluorescence Widefield microscope
- IncuCyte S3 live cell imaging and analysis station (bright and fluorescence)
- Incucyte ZOOM live cell imaging and analysis station ( bright and fluorescencenew in UMIC)
Fluorescence microscopes:
- DeltaVision Elite fast, high-resolution widefield imaging system
- Leica DM 4000B fluorescence microscope
- Solamere widefield fluorescence (using polychromator) Microscope for live imaging (on request)
Brightfield microscopes
- Olympus BX50 research light (no fluorescence) microscope and color camera
- Zeiss STEMI SV11 biocular and color camera ( on request)
Image processing
- Image processing several workstations and dedicated software
Electron microscopes:
- FEI CM100 Transmission EM (TEM) (100kV)
- Zeiss Supra 55 STEM with ATLAS for large-scale imaging and SECOM for correlative light and electron microscopy
- Thermo Fisher Thalos (2020q3) TEM-STEM and EDX
- FI FastEM (2020q4)
