The UMCG Microscopy and Imaging Center (UMIC)

UMIC provides the microscopy infrastructure to support state of the art research in medical and biological sciences.

It offers training and access to advanced  microscopes and image processing  to researchers of the UMCG, RUG and  to external users.

Confocal microscopes:

High content microscopes:

  • Zeiss Cell Discoverer 7   High content Widefield/Confocal microscope
  • TissueFaxs high content fluorescence Widefield microscope
  • IncuCyte S3 live cell imaging and analysis station (bright and fluorescence)
  • Incucyte ZOOM live cell imaging and analysis station ( bright and fluorescencenew in UMIC)

Fluorescence microscopes:

  • DeltaVision Elite fast, high-resolution widefield imaging system
  • Leica DM 4000B fluorescence microscope
  • Solamere widefield fluorescence (using polychromator) Microscope for live imaging (on request)

Brightfield microscopes

  • Olympus BX50 research light (no fluorescence) microscope and color camera
  • Zeiss STEMI SV11 biocular and color camera ( on request)

Image processing

  Electron microscopes:
