The UMCG Microscopy and Imaging Center (UMIC)

UMIC provides the microscopy infrastructure to support state of the art research in medical and biological sciences.

It offers training and access to advanced  microscopes and image processing  to researchers of the UMCG, RUG and  to external users.

Confocal and light sheet microscopes:

Fluorescence microscopes:

  • DeltaVision Elite fast, high-resolution widefield imaging system
  • Leica DM 4000B fluorescence microscope
  • Leica Thunder fast advanced fluorescence microscope with inststant computational clearing, for live-cell
  • NanoString DSP Digital Spatial Profiler
  • Leica laser micro dissection microscope

Brightfield microscopes

  • Olympus BX50 research light (no fluorescence) microscope and color camera
  • Zeiss STEMI SV11 biocular and color camera ( on request)
