Terms of Reference

  1. To lead in advising about cancer education objectives relevant to cancer care in general practice.

  2. To continue the International Summer School 'Oncology for Medical Students'.

  3. To continue the UICC/WHO-CCCE cancer education project (since 2007 named WHO-CCCE/UICC cancer education project)assisting medical schools with the development and implementation of a two week course aimed at cancer care in general practice.

  4. To explore the possibilities of a new edition of the textbook "Essential Oncology for Health professionals".

  5. To implement contemporaneous developments in educational methodologies into cancer education programmes.

  6. To assist in the development of standard instruments for evaluation of cancer education programmes for both medical students, community physicians, nurses and the dental professions.

  7. To explore the possibilities, develop and implement a global project on cancer education for health professionals of different disciplines and in different cultures, aimed at cancer care in general practice.

  8. To collaborate in cancer education projects with other international cancer agencies such as the International Union Against Cancer and the European & American Associations for Cancer Education.

  9. To generate publications on cancer education.
