International students from all over the world can apply for an internship or researchproject in the UMCG in the fields of Medicine, Dentistry and Human Movement Sciences. Students coming from our Erasmus+ and other partners can apply according to the procedures mentioned on this site. It is not possible to apply as a freemover.
The International Office
The International Office is part of Student Recruitment and Mobility of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG)/Faculty of Medical Sciences.
The International Office can advise and support international students and guests. We will be pleased to assist you with all kinds of questions and enquiries.
The International Office arranges all logistic matters for individual foreign students and guests. After you have been accepted by a department in the UMCG, we will inform you about accommodation, insurance and the health policy of the UMCG hospital.
We are supported by a team of student assistants. They are students from Medical Sciences and Human Movement Sciences. A member of the team can pick you up from Schiphol airport if you are from outside of Europe. Further, a student assistant will take you on a guided tour through the UMCG hospital. The tour will take place after the intake appointment at the International Office planned just after your arrival in Groningen.
