O.F. (Rick) de Haart, MSc

Short Biography
Rick de Haart, MSc., studied Psychology (BSc) and Clinical Psychology at the University of Groningen. After graduating with a Master's degree in 2016, he worked as a research assistant at GGZ Drenthe Mental Health Institute, department Trauma Center, and involved in two randomized controlled trials (RCT) into the effect of a motion-assisted Virtual Reality Exposure treatment for uniformed personnel with a posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The Principal Investigator of these multicenter studies was prof. Eric Vermetten.
Besides his job as a research assistant, Rick worked as a psychologist at the department Trauma Center of GGZ Drenthe. In 2018 he started with his postmaster education to become a Health care psychologist. In the first year of his two-year training at GGZ Drenthe he worked with patients who suffered from a first psychosis (Early Intervention Psychosis team), and during his second year he worked in an outpatient forensic clinic.
After his postmaster education, he started working as a Health care psychologist (GZ-psycholoog) at the Trauma Center of GGZ Drenthe. Currently, he is still working at this department and treats uniformed personnel who suffer from PTSD. Besides being a clinician, Rick is involved in various multicenter studies into PTSD, is conducting his PhD research, and is a PhD student affiliated with the Department of Clinical Psychology and Experimental Psychopathology.
