R.R. (Ruurd) Nauta

I was Professor of Latin from 1997 until my early retirement in 2020.
My research is on Latin literature of the Late Republic and Early Empire, esp. Neronian and Flavian poetry, from the perspective of both literary history (i.a. patronage, panegyric) and literary theory (i.a. genre, poetic I, metalepsis).
For reasons of health, I worked for 60% as of September 2012; as of December 2020, I have had to stop working altogether, although I still do some research.
