Rex Langenberg is a PhD candidate in the Department of International Relations and International Organization at the Faculty of Arts. His research examines how Arab anticolonial pan-nationalist thinkers engaged with remaking the region’s territorial order between 1908 and 1948. Specifically, his project investigates how these thinkers envisioned new territorial states, mobilizing a subaltern geopolitics against European imperial predations. Rex’s broader academic interests include historical international relations, anti-imperial thought, and critical geopolitics in the Arab World.
