Research interests

Rupankar’s research interests focus on gender and sexual justice, particularly sexual and reproductive justice for marginalized identities. He has conducted fieldwork in Uganda's Kalangala Islands, working with people with diverse disabilities to understand their sexual and reproductive rights within the islands' unique spatial context. His work also engages with inclusivity in healthcare, health geography, and human rights, informed by research and practice in South America, sub-Saharan Africa, and South and Southeast Asia. In addition, he has contributed to development initiatives related to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), as well as human rights in global supply chains. Methodologically, he is particularly interested in qualitative and participatory research approaches
