Research interests

Murwendah’s research is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach, connecting tax policy, governance, and broader socio-economic and political developments. Her current work focuses on the taxation of development issues, particularly in the areas of water, sanitation, and public health. Her PhD explores how legal and economic instruments—especially environmental taxation—can be used to address water-related challenges such as land subsidence and sustainable access.
