Martijn Keizer works as a researcher and lecturer at the deparment of marketing at the University of Groningen. He received his PhD in social psychology from University of Groningen in 2014. His PhD research focused on the role of normative considerations as predictors of pro-environmental behavior. After completion of his PhD, he moved to the department of marketing, where his research focuses on the financial behavior of indebted consumers. In collaboration with practitioners, Martijn studies how and why consumers accumulate debts and which interventions may be successful in relieving or preventing consumer debt problems. Besides these research activities, Martijn also coördinates various Bachelor-level courses and supervises master thesis projects in his capacity as university lecturer.
