M. (Mahmoud) Askari, PhD

Mahmoud Askari obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2022 from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, where he specialized in the Analysis of Smart Materials and Structures for Sensing, Actuation and Energy Harvesting Applications, as well as in Dynamics and Vibration. He also holds both BSc and MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering. After completing his doctorate, he gained industrial experience in automotive sector as a CAE/FEA Specialist, contributing to projects involving structural, thermal, and multibody dynamics analyses. He subsequently joined the Dynamics and Vibration Research Group at the University of Groningen as a Postdoctoral Researcher, working on Experimental and Numerical Studies in Vibration Control and Energy Harvesting. He is currently a Permanent Research & Education Assistant in the same group, supporting experimental research and teaching activities in mechanical engineering courses, and co-supervising BSc, MSc, and visiting students in their research projects.
