In the teaching of our section I usually take on the poetic subjects. In the second year I offer the course of Poëzieanalyse together with my colleague Prof. Dr. Ruurd Nauta and in the third year we offer the course Medea en Dido. Besides, I read tragedies and comedies with the students of the second year and in the master-phase I give various seminars in the field of Greek poetry, like for instance in 2005-2006 a seminar on the reception of Greek tragedy in the work of Lucanus (with Dr. Annemarie Ambühl).

I am also teaching classics in translation, as in the course on the history of literature in the first year of our curriculum and in a number of lectures on mythological characters in our very popular course on Greek myth Pandora. Together with my colleague Prof. Dr. Ruurd Nauta I conduct a reading group of advanced students in which we discuss Greek and Latin texts in translation at the home of one of us.
