K.M. (Konstantin) Wacker, PhD

Konstantin M. Wacker is an associate professor at RUG, which he joined 2018.

He previously worked for the macroeconomic department of the World Bank (2013-2015) and as an assistant professor at University of Mainz (2015-2018), and held short-term assignments at the Austrian Central Bank (2017), the European Central Bank (2012/13), the International Monetary Fund (2011), and the United Nations University - WIDER (2010).

His research has been published in journals such as Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Labour Economics, Review of International Economics, World Development, Review of World Economics, and World Economy and received a Klaus Liebscher Economic Research Scholarship from the Austrian Central Bank (OeNB) in 2021 and a Kurt Rothschild Price in 2020.

He holds a PhD in economics and applied statistics from the University of Göttingen (2013) and also studied in Vienna, Alicante, and Beijing.
